Saturday Story

All In A Nights Fun

Now don’t get me wrong, being a biker Charter President did mean some fun moments.

There was a small club on Beretania my group began going to on Saturday nights. It had a big parking lot, glass windows to watch the bikes, reasonable prices for food and drinks, and internet jukebox and 2 pool tables.

We’d go here 2 or three times a month, spend 5-6 hours, pay our bill and go home. It wasn’t like the chapter “claimed” the bar as its own. We’d show up, have a good time, and leave. Like many bars there were “buy me drink” girls looking for a customer, a surly bartender who’d pad a tab any chance she’d get and of course tough guys thinking they’d kick some bikers ass to prove how tough they were or some such.

That sort of thing happens were ever bikers hangout. It usually ranges from loud mouths seeing how far they can push, drunks that seem to think they’re really much more important than they  are, and all the way  to guys that take a cheap shot and suddenly find all the brothers taking a piece of their ass.

A lot of those you can see coming and be ready to respond. Sometimes you just got to be confident.

We showed up at the small place to find almost the whole parking lot full, but very few people could be seen inside through the windows. What we didn’t know is the bar wasn’t doing that well so they open a small casino on the second floor. That floor had no front windows so it couldn’t be seen. They’d also put in heavy steel gates at the bottom of each stairway, hired a couple of organized crime boys to run it, and away they went.

Due to the now, heavy traffic, one of the OC guys hired one of his wet brain, muscle bound nephews to watch the parking lot, so when we pulled into the usual spot he started telling us where we could, and couldn’t, park. Since he’s trying to tell us to park around the corner I politely said no thank you and directed the crew to park in front of the windows. Hey, the space was open.

Wet brain didn’t like that. He starts yelling, then starts cussing, and starts telling he’s going to fuck me up. Since I was with 11 other guys, who rode for me, you can probably figure out this was not something that could be considered a good idea. Don’t tell an M/C charter P, in front of a large group of his members that you’re going to fuck him up. You’ll be in for a big surprise finding yourself surrounded by a bunch of angry bikers who really want to start hitting you, a lot.

Wet brain didn’t get it. He starts kicking off his rubber slippers and pulling off his t-shirt to show he really means business.

There must have been somebody with some sense watching from upstairs because a big, black, Ford F-250 pickup pulls into the parking lot, fast, and pulls to a very hard stop.

As the driver gets out, I was pretty sure this was the guy in charge so I turned my back on Wet brain and directed my attention and conversation to the new arrival.

The driver was about my age, and somewhat larger, but he had to look of a “businessman”, someone that is respected, used to giving orders and knows when to pick his battles

I stepped forward, introduced myself and the crew, shook his hand, and told him we weren’t there for any trouble, just a few drinks and some pool.

It surprised him when I told him we hadn’t know the place was protected and certainly wasn’t there to upset anything or anyone.

He responded in the same polite manner, and apologized for “his man” getting out of hand. If all we wanted were some drinks, the first round was on him. The conversation was going well until Wet brain starts yelling real loud, about how he’s going to teach the “fucking haole (me) a lesson”.

At this exclamation, Hyde walks between Wet brain and the two of us talking. Facing Wet brain, Hyde asks me if he can handle this problem.

Background, Hyde was a former U.S.A.F. officer, a Para-Rescue Officer. He also graduated from Harvard, taught military unarmed combat, and ran marathons for fun. Hyde was a very tough, well trained SOB.

Wet Brain is now dancing and making “big body” while moving side to side but not forward. He’s obviously waiting for the ok from his boss, the guy standing next to me.

I quietly, because the only one being loud was Wet brain, ask Hyde;

“You want him?”

“Sure Boss”, Hyde responded.

I look at the pickup truck and said;” You take real good care of your truck. Just like we do our bikes. Maybe we need to finish this so there won’t be any accidents while we’re inside.”

“Tell you what”, I reached into my cutoff’s pocket. “I got three hundred here that say’s Hyde will take him in out in less than 2 minutes if he doesn’t spend it all running away.” You could almost hear Hyde’s smile.

The Boss looks at me, looks at Hyde, and looks at Wet brain.

“Talu”, he said loudly. This was the first time he’d raised his voice. “Shut the fuck up and get upstairs. I’ll talk with you when the grown-ups are done.”

Wet brain looks liked he’d been bitched slapped. He started to open his mouth when the Boss spoke again. “NOW!”

This was the one guy Wet brain wasn’t going to argue with, ever. He headed upstairs looking like a kicked puppy.

I’m figuring this is about to lead to someplace between a couple of rounds of drinks and a business opportunity. But alas, it was not to be. Someone watching from the second floor said “five oh” just loud enough to be heard.

I turned my head to the side and told the crew;

“Light ‘em up. We’re leaving.”

Everyone headed back to their bike.

As the 2 patrol cars pulled into the parking lot, the Boss and I shook hands like old friends.

I stepped over to my bike, Julie was already seated, and as I swung my leg over he said, “Another time. I still owe you a round of beers”. He was smiling.

“Next time”, I responded.

Since everything was quiet and peaceful, the cops didn’t even get out of their cars. We just rode off into the night, to another bar.

Just a couple of additional notes to wrap this up.

We called our club Brother Hyde as in “Dr. Jekyll and Mister Hyde”. He had a quick fuse and was really very dangerous in “Hyde” mode. There had been no doubt of that outcome.

We never got those beers. It seems the nightclub had been under police surveillance the whole time. There was an undercover vehicle set up across the street. Two weeks later the bar, upstairs and downstairs, was raided. Somewhere between 40 and 50 people, including the Boss and the Wet brain, were arrested and the whole place shut down.

Damn, I hate not getting free drinks.

As we had ridden away that night Julie leaned into me and whispered into my ear, “Honey, did you know he had a gun between the seats in the truck?”

That would account for his hurry to roll up the windows when the cops had pulled in.

“No,” I said. “But you got my back, right?”

“Shut-up” she answered with a slap to the back of the head.

It’s probably better I hadn’t known.

Damn, that could have gotten real interesting

Friday Motes, Stayed The Course To The End

Drudge Report headline: “Pecker Stands Tall”. (Snicker snicker snort snort)

Russian hackers claiming to be backed by the Kremlin are believed to have remotely accessed a Texas town’s water tower. The suspected hack in the Texas Panhandle town in January would be the  first-ever disruption of a US drinking water system by Russia, after Iran and China carried out similar attacks. The hack in Muleshoe, a community of 5,000 not far from the New Mexico border, led to the tower overflowing with thousands of gallons for almost an hour, leading to a state of emergency to be declared. Do have any idea how many “end of the world” scenarios and sci-fi books START with this action? Lots.

I see a pattern here: Bidens daughter arrested twice, no convictions. Bidens brother arrested 3 times, no jail time. Bidens niece arrested 3 times, no fines or jail. Bidens son arrested once and charged with multiple federal and state crimes but no convictions. Anyone else tired off the two tiered justice system am.

They Do not represent the people: Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs continued her streak of vetoing a record number of bills on Tuesday by shooting down SB-1129, sponsored by Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers, which would have allowed Arizona homeowners to remove an unlawful occupant or a “squatter” from their property. It can be recalled that during Katie Hobbs’ first legislative session last year, after she stole the midterm election from conservative firebrand Kari Lake, Hobbs broke the record for the number of bills vetoed in a single legislative session, and she did it during her first 100 days in office. Hobbs vetoed a total of 143 bills last year and, in total, has vetoed over 185 bills since taking office last January. This shatters Democrat Janet Napolitano’s record of 181 vetoes during an entire four-year term. She really does NOT represent the voters.

Cops gone bad: Over the last two years, dozens of Oahu drivers have been arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence with breathalyzer results of 0.00. In 2022 and 2023, nearly 300 drivers who were arrested had breath or blood test results below the legal limit of 0.08, according to HPD data on arrests that did not result in charges. Even more concerning, there were 69 people with results of 0.00. An attorney specializing in traffic cases said officers will sometimes make an arrest at the beginning of their shift so they don’t have to worry about it for the rest of the night. “They arrest the first person,” McPherson said, then they don’t go back out. HPD declined requests for interviews. Being a cop is now just another C&C job, you do as little as you have to, stay the length, and retire as soon as possible.

Recently began weeding out my “mutli-media library”, books, CD’s. and DVD’s. Does anybody read a book anymore? Or is everything on “e”? I get buyers for the D’s and DVD’s but not the paperback/hardback books. I’d rather hold a book instead o a pad at anytime. But that’s just me.

Thursday Motes, Not Quite The Weekend

A step in the right direction: The 2020 Election results in Georgia never should have been certified. The 2020 election in Georgia was stolen. It’s a fact. Georgia’s Gabe Sterling who was involved in the certification of the stolen 2020 Election claimed that there were no issues with the Georgia election results. This was false and is false. Even Governor Kemp agreed that there were issues with the 2020 Election. But…But…They told us there was no fraud.

How about you go back home: The city of Denver, Colorado is collapsing under the weight of its new population of illegal border crossers. The mayor just cut police funding by $8m in order to keep catering to illegals, but it’s just not enough according to one illegal immigrant advocacy group. Apparently, six months of free housing and food is insulting. How about nothing then? Is that an option? Migrants and an advocacy group in Denver decried the city’s new Asylum Seekers Program that offers six months of free housing, calling it “insufficient” and “offensive” despite the mayor cutting the city’s emergency budget to accommodate the migrant surge. I have a great idea, GO HOME!!!

Did you see last night “Pink Moon”? Too much cloud cover here.

Should be front page, but isn’t: With no msm cameras around and nobody paying much attention to what was going on in Niger, a disgraceful, utterly humiliating exit of the U.S. military from that benighted country now led by a military junta, has dealt the U.S. another strategic blow, and entirely preventable. The crummy little tinpot junta now running Niger has managed to kick Uncle Sam around, much as the Taliban and Iran did, creating an accumulating pattern of lost U.S. influence. The coup leaders ordered the U.S. out. To make matters worse, they held 1,000 U.S. servicemen hostage in the desert without water or food for weeks, as the U.S. attempted to hold on, until this past week when the U.S. agreed to fork over the brand-new state-of-art U.S. $110 million military base there just so we could get our servicemembers out. And to make it worse, they decided to hand it over to Russia. This should be on every front page in the country and start every news broadcast. Why isn’t it? ? ?

All just coincidence, really: John Barnett was a Boeing engineer who became THE whistleblower. On Friday Mar h 8, he was planning to drive home to Louisiana from his deposition. Boeing lawyers demanded he stay one more day to “finish” his testimony. At 9:42am on March 9, a hotel staff member heard a gunshot. At 10am, Barnett’s attorney called the hotel asking for a wellness check. He was found dead shortly afterward in the hotel parking lot in his truck, with a single gunshot wound to the head. Barnett’s family said that “he was looking forward to having his day in court and hoped that it would force Boeing to change its culture,” and that “he was suffering from PTSD and anxiety attacks as a result of being subjected to the hostile work environment at Boeing which we believe led to his death.”

Wednesday Motes, Still Moving Along

Justice upside down: Eva Edl turned 10 years old in a World War II-era death camp. As Danube Swabians, an ethnic German-speaking group, Edl and her family were rounded up in the aftermath of World War II by soldiers under the direction of Yugoslavia’s communist leader, Josip Broz, commonly known as Tito. She slept on straw. She had her one dress. Very little food.  She came to the United States in 1955 and was exposed to a human rights crisis she had never before heard of, decided that she must do whatever was in her power to save lives. Charged by President Joe Biden’s Justice Department with violating the “Freedom of Access To Clinic Entrances At”, Edl faces up to 11 years in prison and $350,000 fines. For praying in a doorway. She is about to turn 89 years old. She believes she may die in a United States prison. For a non-violent “crime”. Something is freakin’ wrong.

A new term: “Undocumented citizen”, “borderless person”, or “relocated migrant”. Now we have “unsheltered community”. The news article said,” A self-governed village for the unsheltered has been on state land in Waianae for years. But soon, some of its residents could be moving to a new community.” Puuhonua O Waianae Mauka will be the new home for Auntie Twinkle’s village, which has been at the Waianae Small Boat Harbor for nearly two decades.

It ain’t their money: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is handing out millions of taxpayer dollars to a coalition featuring two immigration-focused activist organizations, one which pushes voter registration for traditionally Democrat-leaning demographics. As part of a $600M round of grant funding issued in December 2023 to advance “environmental justice,” the EPA gave out $50 million to a Fordham University-led coalition including the “New York Immigration Coalition” (NYIC) and the New Jersey Alliance for Immigration Justice. (NJAIJ).  Can anyone explain how one dollar of this is for “environmental justice,”? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

Will this start the A.I. war: A while back, a few Canadian tech-wizards created a hitchhiking robot named “Hitchbot” and sent him south of the border with nothing but a dream and bucket list of stops from Boston to San Francisco. Hitchbot’s goal was to “see what people do with this kind of technology when we leave it up to them.” Hitchbot was found this weekend in Philadelphia, not yet having made it off the East Coast. His body was decapitated, and his arms were ripped off. Somehow making this worse is that in Canada, Germany, and the Netherlands, Hitchbot managed to complete his entire journey, no trouble whatsoever. Except in the U.S. Except in a  demorat run city. Says something about our “humanity” doesn’t it.

Five years ago today, I said Good-Bye to my friend and Brother Terry The Tramp Orendorff, who was a member of the Vagos Motorcycle Club for 42 years. He was the Vagos international president for 26 years. He patched me personally. Terry Lee “Terry the Tramp” Orendorff was 70-years-old. When I heard, I sat and wept. Today, I raise a glass. Viva Los Vagos. Viva El Tramp.

Tuesday Motes, Moving Right Along

Are bikers in again: First snitch Jay Dobyns and his “new” tv expose. Now ex-Angel George Christie is back on A&E with his story of how he was so mistreated. I guess bikers are going to be in, again.

Do watch: Watched “One Love; Bob Marley” this weekend. It is really good. I have always been a C&W fan so I kinda missed him in his heyday. But the movie makes me watnt to research and listen a little more. Mostly I want to know if he was the true “believer” that the movie makes him out to be.

F A F O : Wild bodycam footage has been released showing the moment police in Seattle gunned down an alleged sex predator who pulled a gun on them during a sting operation during which the suspect reportedly thought he was meeting up with two underage girls. The suspect knocked on a hotel room door, where he was met by multiple SPD officers with the Washington State Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce who were undercover and waiting to arrest him.  The suspect pulled out a gun as one of the officers tried to wrest the firearm away from the suspect. A gunshot rang out as two other officers could be seen unloading several rounds onto the suspect, killing him at the scene. All the offiers went home unharmed. A good ending.

It’s not his money: Baltimore City Mayor Brandon Scott shared his disappointment Tuesday that too much public money has gone to arts organizations that “just happen to be White-ran.” The comment came during the announcement of a $3.6 million “Diversity in Arts” grant funded by COVID-19 relief dollars. So, he’s spending covid tax money, on his pet art project. If you don’t spend it on covid, shouldn’t it be returned?

Follow-up: Remember the Canada Gold Heist I mentioned last week. Well, a couple of days later, at least 4 individuals were arrested in connection with that robbery. The arrests that followed the “sensational” gold heist have shed light on the illegal gun trade between the US and Canada. Police have since said the gold was sold for cash to buy guns in the US. The smuggling of illegal guns from the US has long been a source of concern for police in Canada, where most firearms – save for shotguns and rifles – are restricted or prohibited. When announcing arrests in the case, police revealed the robbery was carried out with the help of two Air Canada employees. These airline workers are now facing charges of theft over $5,000 and conspiracy to commit an indictable offense. Something like this, almost always an inside job.

It stinks: Something stinks down in Arkansas. GOP Senators Tom Cotton and John Boozman, both representing Arkansas, are calling for an investigation after learning that some Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents who were executing a search warrant were not wearing their body cameras. The “raid”, executed in the early hours of March 19 with ATF agents serving a search warrant on a home in Litte Rock. The incident cost Bryan Malinowski, executive director of Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, his life. If someone kicks in your door at 6am, you’d probably respond with a gun in hand. It does not appear there was a “gunfight”, simply another atfe execution.

Monday Motes, A New Begining

Different expectations: Big headline about “Donald McStingy” and how President Trump’s staffers ordered over $700 worth on McDonalds but didn’t leave a tip. I do not know or ever seen anyone who has left a tip at McDonalds. I think it’s even against company policy. But it makes Mr. Trump look bad so let’s make it a headline.

What the hell:  Harris County grand jury has dismissed the murder charge against a 17-year-old in the case involving the death of a 42-year-old store clerk. The incident took place on January 19 when two teenagers were confronted by the clerk after they stole a bag of chips from a Sunoco station in Humble. The clerk “chased” the thieves. Court records reveal that he pursued the teens outside of the store and into his vehicle, at which point the fatal shooting occurred. Lott Brooks, the attorney representing the suspect, argued that his client acted in self-defense. ??? The 17 y-o suspect was carrying a gun (illegal), committing theft (illegal), and shot a man (illegal). The defense,  “there are too many guns on the streets, and they lead to tragedies like this one.” And in Texas for crying out loud.

Best Wishes : Offering well wishes for Honolulu K-9 Zach. Zach was stabbed multiple times during standoff with a armed suspect. The suspect also shot, with an arrow, an Oahu Deputy Sheriff who was unharmed. Deputy sheriffs arrested the suspect after the 20-hour standoff. He’s been booked for first-degree attempted murder and causing injury to a law enforcement animal. Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery for K-9  Officer Zach.

Didn’t the Soviet Union do this: Joshua Spriestersbach was held in the state psychiatric hospital for more than two years after authorities mistook him for someone named Thomas Castleberry and refused to listen to him when he claimed there had been a mix-up. The police officers who arrested him, the public defenders who represented him in court and the psychiatrists who treated him at the state hospital chalked up his claims to mental illness — until they eventually discovered their mistake and quietly released him. After Spriestersbach sued the state for damages in 2021, officials questioned his sanity once again and even challenged his mental fitness to bring a lawsuit at all. Isn’t this what the KGB used to do to discontents back in the 50’s? Have them declared insane and lock them away. Seems like.

OH godds, no: Hollywood has no more imagination. Everything they do is a re-make or sequel. It is now reported that one of those movies will be a remake of the 1977 Clint Eastwood action thriller The Gauntlet.  Tom “Shortstuff” Cruise will take over the role originally played by Eastwood in the movie, that of alcoholic Detective Ben Shockley. Be on the lookout for the box he’ll have to stand on. Good grief.

Shopping mall stabbing in Sidney, Australia, Saturday, 13 Apr 24

Six unsuspecting, innocent shoppers were murdered at a busy shopping mall in Sidney, Australia last Saturday afternoon.

A number of other innocents were non-fatally injured by this perpetrator (including an infant) during the same episode.

This murderous attack lasted only four minutes. It surely would have gone-on longer were it not for decisive, armed police intervention.

Perpetrator was a 40-year-old man (now dead) with “mental-health issues.” He was familiar to local police! ( S.*How many times have we heard that*)

Perpetrator was ultimately confronted by, and immediately shot-to-death by, a uniformed, armed, decisive police officer, who courageously took the fight to him!

Of course, in Australia “ordinary citizens” have been forcibly disarmed by vile leftist political hypocrites (similar to ours)!

Of note:

The first victim of this felon’s murderous rampage was an young male “security guard” (uniformed, but unarmed), his first day on the job!

The rest of the victims this VCA deliberately targeted and selected, were all women.

Lessons:

1) Unarmed “security guards” are a joke! Never expect them to protect anyone, including themselves.

2) In the minds of many VCAs (apparent in this case), women make easier victims than men.

3) When a VCA decides that he can take you, you’ve only seconds (maybe less) to convince him otherwise!

4) What we call “mindset,” is a complicated matter. Anyone of normal intelligence can be trained to operate a gun, even pass some arbitrary “qualification course.”

Yet, simultaneously developing a survival-oriented, personal “mindset” is more complicated and delves into your very nature and spirit.

The police officer in this case “passed the test,” to her credit.

For the rest of us, the time to start refining our personal “mindset” is now, while we still can!

Two kinds of pain: The pain of discipline, the pain of regret. We can avoid one, but never both!

/John

Saturday Story

Interesting people make for interesting lives. I’ve lived and “interesting” life.

The Cook and The Tattooed Lady

For years one of the favorite bars in downtown Honolulu was “Mickey Hummer’s Downtown Boyd’s Saloon”. Mostly just referred to as Hummer’s.

It was a downtown businessman’s place with a limited menu of sandwiches, soups and salads, and most importantly, CHILI. The place opened Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 8 pm or so. Earlier on Saturdays. Later on Fridays.

The clientele was mostly from the surrounding office buildings, stockbrokers, insurance people and such. So when “Lady Blue” walked in, she got noticed.

It could have been the very small tank top showing lots of boob or the numerous tattoos, but she got your attention. This was the late 70’s and not very many women had full front and back tats and full sleeves.  And Lady Blue, she had it all.

She also had a mad love for life, and infectious laugh, and was just plain fun to be around.

Lady Blue was not young, but certainly not to be considered old. You could say she’d “been around”.

Within a very short period, Blue became a member if the “Hummer’s Saloon” family and was there more nights than she wasn’t. Don’t know what she did for a living but she always seemed to have enough to pay her tab and wasn’t above buying someone else a drink.

Since there was food served, Hummer’s “kitchen” had a cook. At this time it was a youngish (24-26) man with limited life experience but had been a familyresturant cook for most of his life. Sandwichs, salads, and chili were easy for him and it left him lots of time to surf.

Now, I said he had limited “life experience”; this went for women as well. And very few people had ever had experience with a free spirit like Lady Blue. They met one afternoon while he was sitting at the bar making a shopping list.

Lady Blue sat down next to him, asked his name, and decided he was just the cutest thing she’s seen in a long time. They started talking, she started showing him her tats and they were still at it come closing time.

That became a daily occurance. He’d wait at the end of the bar after his shift, she’s come in and they’d talk and laugh and act like a couple of high school sweethearts.

It continued for several weeks and nobody thought about it until the bar opened one Monday morning. Lying on the floor under the mail slot was the door key and a note.

As you can guess, the note was from the cook.

He and Blue were leaving together. They were going to see the world, live large, and she was going to be his guide. We never saw either of them again.

But I know 2 things for sure;

  • He probably saw more of life than most people ever do
  • And, it most defiantly was a wild ride.

Friday Motes, End Of The Week. (We’ll try again next week :).

No he wasn’t : Appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy; Arrested with Nelson Mandela; Raised in a black/Puerto Rican community; Full professor aa U. of Penn; Shot at while on a diplomatic trip overseas; The first of his family to graduate college; Arrested at a civil rights protest; A truck driver; A winner of an international “moot court” competition. He never: Had his house burn down; Spoke to the “inventor” of insulin; Visited “Tree of Life Synagogue”; Had an uncle killed by “cannibals”. These are all stories claimed publicly by Uncle Joe. This is by no way the complete listing. The only thing he leads the free world in is dementia.

Can we say Hypocrite: Republican Gov. Jeff Landry, who touted transparency while campaigning and in his push to overhaul Louisiana’s criminal justice system this year, on Wednesday backed an effort  to gut the state’s transparency laws by barring any documents involved in government planning from public view. That legislation, would apply to emails, messages and any other records produced by officials in the course of making government decisions. So once again we see they will say whatever needs to be said, to be elected.

Defund: NPR! NPR has been sucking off the federal government tit since day one. Always promoting their “1st Amendment” rights and privilege. Now the truth about npr’s real stance is coming to light and they are singing a different song. The new ceo of npr has grandly stated; “the number one challenge” here that we see is, of course, the First Amendment in the United States”. You mean the amendment that allows you and your “company” to operate? That 1st?

Only seems appropriate: The far-right House Freedom Caucus has formed a crack team of conservative lawmakers to monitor the House floor lest Speaker Mike Johnson or other Republicans try to limit their power. House conservatives have organized a crack team to monitor to potential ways to undermine their power. The House Freedom Caucus has formed a Floor Action Response Team. Yes, they called it FART.(snicker snicker snort)

A sad Good Bye: Founding member and longtime guitarist of the Allman Brothers Band, Dickey Betts, died Thursday at the age of 80. Betts lent his talents to a catchy 7.5 minute instrumental composition titled “Jessica,” that became a hit on FM radio, and one of the band’s signature songs. Betts also wrote or co-wrote some of the band’s biggest hits, including “Blue Sky” and “Southbound,” and “Ramblin’ Man”, for all intents the Allman Brothers anthem. His talent and sound will be missed.

Thursday Motes, More Of The Same

Storyteller just sayin’: The Constitution guarantees everyone the right to a fair trial. The presumption of innocence and the right to a fair trial are cornerstones of American values. Another is the right  to be judged by a jury of your peers. Noun Definition: A) A peer refers to someone who is of equal standing with another person. This equality can be based on various factors, such as age, grade, or social status. For example: Teenagers spending time with their peers means they are interacting with others of the same age group or social circle. B) The term can also be used more broadly to describe anyone who belongs to the same societal group. Does anybody believe that President Trump will be getting judged by his “peers”? Yeah, me either.

Animals behaving badly: Animal rescuers “suspected the worst” when they encountered a pair of black vultures in very rough shape earlier this month in Connecticut. A Place Called Hope, which treats injured birds of prey, responded to help the sick vultures with Watertown Animal Control. “Unable to balance, stand, kept passing out or in our eyes, actively dying… we ran every test.” It turns out these two feathered friends just had too much to drink. rescuers determined that the vultures had likely been dumpster diving the day before the eclipse and “getting themselves into something that was fermented enough to cause severe intoxication.” The birds only needed fluids and to be tucked in overnight … and fed a BIG breakfast the next day. And off they went. Sounds familiar to me.

Wanted to watch: I was looking forward to seeing “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.” Before I spend my money to watch you pretend to be an inresting character, I must say you need to do your job. ACT. Your personal opinion means nothing to me. Your telling me how stupid my beliefs are, or how crazy my life style is, is not what you are being paid (and very damn well) to do. Until you sdastfu, you won’t see a dime of my money or a minute more of my time. So I won’t be watching anything of his, any time soon.

W T H : Purchasing a child for sex is a misdemeanor in California, lawmakers to debate classifying it as a felony. Under California law, purchasing or soliciting a child for sex is a misdemeanor carrying a maximum penalty of up to a year in jail, or a minimum of two days in jail, and a $10,000 fine. California lawmakers next week are set to debate a proposal that would ramp up the consequences for consumers of the child sex trafficking industry. I an’t even wrap my head around this.

Not a surprise: The United States Senate was supposed to hold an impeachment trial of Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas beginning at 1 PM Eastern Wednesday. The Senate, at Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) urging, voted to dismiss both articles of impeachment against Mayorkas. Democrats found the second article charging Mayorkas with “breach of public trust” to be unconstitutional. They then voted to end the impeachment “trial” completely. This is because Uncle Joe has told us, there is no border crisis. Mayorkas has told us there is no crisis. Do not believe your lying eyes.
